(KNSI) – A ROCORI High School student is one of the recipients of the James W. Tracy Scholarship. Tyler Ratka is among 25 people selected.

The awards are handed out by the Minnesota FFA Foundation to students who will be pursuing a college degree in agriculture. Four factors are used to select the winners. On top of an interest in farming and agriculture, the FFA weighs the applicants on how involved they are in the organization and other community activities, their leadership skills, and their need for financial assistance.

The recipients will be honored later this month at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities campus during the state convention. The full list of winners is below.

James Tracy passed away in 2014 but has donated his farm to the foundation so it can be used to help educate the next generation.
