(KNSI) – More than 17,000 fans were at last Friday’s NBA game between the Timberwolves and Memphis Grizzlies, where they got to see a performance from two local dance teams.

Miss Melinda’s Dance Studio sent its Gents and Milky Way squads to be part of the pre-game entertainment at the Target Center. Gents is an all-boys group and Milky Way creates routines specifically for hip-hop music.

The Timberwolves have a division in the front office focusing on community engagement. Studio owner Melinda Tamm tells KNSI the team highlights students who are involved with multiple activities while being great in the classroom.

The Timberwolves have been playing better of late. They’re winners of three in a row and seven of 10. At 27-25, the team is now in fifth place in the NBA’s Western Conference standings.

Pictures are available on the studio’s Facebook page. It looks like the performance was a slam dunk for all involved.
