(KNSI) – Officers with the St. Cloud Community Outpost recently helped kids to lace up a pair of skates for the first time.

Around 30 kids participated in the annual COP House Youth Hockey program earlier last week. Police and community members took to the ice rink at Haws Park to help kids learn how to skate and play hockey. The crew ended the night with hot chocolate, pizza, and smiles.

According to its website, the COP House Hockey program is designed to inspire a new and diverse generation of St. Cloud area hockey players.

The COP House would like to thank the Southside Boys & Girls Club for helping make the event happen.
