(KNSI) — The good girls and boys of Sartell won’t get a glimpse of the Man in Red Thursday night.

The Sartell Fire Department says out of an abundance of caution and concern; they made the tough decision to cancel the 2022 Sartell Santa Tour.

A wind chill warning and blizzard warning are forecast to kick in at 6:00 p.m. for bitterly cold air temps combined with high winds driving wind chills into the 30s and 40s below zero. Blowing snow will cause low to zero visibility.

The fire department is asking people to stay home and “limit travel to essential travel only as we expect some roadways in our area will become extremely dangerous at times.”

The weather is expected to clear on Christmas Eve, just in time for Santa to take to the friendly skies. Follow his journey by clicking here.
