(KNSI) – Janelle Kendall’s Perfect Storm takes the stage tonight at Pioneer Place to benefit Catholic Charities beginning at 7:00.

Kendall, also the Stearns County attorney, says she has worked with the organization before, including earlier this year for a Mardi Gras fundraiser. Kendall says she sees the good work Catholic Charities does for the community every day as part of her job.

“We have representatives from Catholic Charities on our Human Trafficking Task Force. They’re on our domestic violence partnership. Obviously, they are the food shelf [in the area]. I see the great value that Catholic Charities brings to the table in helping not only our victims but they run some of the treatment programs that help our offenders as well.”

Kendall talks about how the band formed in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We got a call from Pioneer Place when they could only have 50 people under the restrictions at the time, and they just needed people to fill the stage. So this is really a cross-section of local musicians who have not played together before…no one was touring, they were available, and now we’ve had some fun together, so we decided to keep it up.”

The show is titled Love Is in the Air and will feature hit songs originally sung by the likes of Patti LaBelle, Joan Jett, Aretha Franklin, and more.

Tickets are general admission, costing $25 each. They can be bought here. Catholic Charities Executive Director Steve Pareja says, “Because of their generosity, 100% of the proceeds from the ticket sales and donations will go to support Catholic Charities. We’re looking forward to celebrating an evening of great music at a fantastic venue with our friends and supporters while raising necessary funds to serve those in need.”
