(KNSI) — Little Falls’ Minnesota National Guard base is celebrating a brand new fire hall. Senior Commander Army Brigadier General Lowell Kruse says it is a win for the entire area. The Camp Ripley Department responds to calls on-site and in several surrounding communities. Since the beginning of 2021, they have kept busy, going out on 360 health emergency calls and 20 fire incidents.

Kruse says, “One of the Minnesota National Guard’s organizational priorities is partnerships, and the Camp Ripley Fire Department meets that priority every time they support the local first responders in our surrounding communities.”

Given the busy schedule, maintaining around-the-clock operations is a must. Camp Ripley Fire Chief Pat Boone says amenities at the new facility will help ensure that continues.

“It affords us the opportunity to rest, prepare, and reset for any call that we are needed at. We have always been able to keep 24/7 operations, but this new building enables us to work smarter, and to be at our best whenever the moment calls for us to be.”

The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new hall was held at 3:30 Friday afternoon.
