Sunday June 9

  • Kids Fishing Contest Rock Island Park Pond (Next to Bernick’s Pepsi) 1:00-3:00 p.m. Free event for kids 2-12.  Bring your own rod, tackle, bait and a bucket to hold your fish.  Prizes awarded.  Sponsored by St Cloud Chapter of Muskies Inc. For more information, contact Bruce at (320)656-1160. 

 Monday June 10

  • Medallion Hunt  Clues posted on www.ci.waitepark.mn.us and on the radio on Lite 99.9 daily at 8:20 a.m.  Prizes awarded at Community Park on Saturday night at 5:30 pm.
  • Geocache Contest - June 10th-13th   Caches are in locations throughout the City.  Pick up location cards and rules at City Hall.  Prizes for all cards turned in at Community Park on Friday evening between 5:00 - 7:00 pm.  Prize drawing for all completed cards Saturday at 5:30 pm. Tuesday June 11

Thursday June 13

  • City Wide Garage Sale - 8:00 am-5:00 pm Registration forms are available at City Hall or online at www.ci.waitepark.mn.us. Registrations are due no later than 4:30 p.m. Friday, June 7.  A donation of 3 nonperishable food items or a $5 donation for the food shelf is requested. One garage sale sign will be provided per registrered sale. Sale list and map will be available on the website and at City Hall, after 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12.   • Library Kids Day Program - Composting With Worms!  - 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Community Park Shelter - Find out how wiggly worms turn food scraps and yard waste into compost for the garden.  Professor Bill Cook from SCSU will bring his worms for show & tell and lead children through some hands-on activities.  Expect to get dirty!
  • Kids Project Building – Community Park Shelter.  1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Wood-building project for kids.
  • Boy Scouts selling hot dog & pop for $1.00.
  • FREE Caboose Tours - 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. - STARail Museum at 201 3rd St N, Hook-up with Railroad History!  Come tour the historic caboose.    Lash-up ceremony at 3:00 pm.  The  2537 Box Car and the X240 Caboose will be coupled together.  Enjoy a Hobo Treat and see the "Gandy Dancer" Sculpture.  Find the Golden Spike Contest for the kids.
  • Quarry Tours - Martin Marietta Aggregates Quarries - 1:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. -  Tickets are $1.00.  Advance tickets are available at City Hall beginning May 1st until  noon on June 13th.  Tickets available after noon at the tour bus pick-up site on 3rd Street North across from the Moose Lodge.  Tour includes Free Hot Dog, Chips and Ice Cream served in the Quarry!
  • Waite Park Police Bike Garage Sale & Safety Rodeo – City Hall 2:00-5:00 p.m. Waite Park City Hall. Bike safety check and a free helmet (while supplies last). Sponsored by WPPD & Revolution Cycle & Ski.
  • Kiddie Parade – City Hall to Community Park, registration 5:30 p.m. Parade at 6:00 p.m., Sponsored by Quality Appliance.
  • Kids Night – Community Park Shelter. Children's entertainment will be provided by "George of Juggle".

  • 3rd Annual “Best of Show” Car Show  – 4:30 Registration, Trophies to the "Best of Show"  Top 20 cars as voted by show car participants and public.  Awards presented at 8:30 p.m., $10.00 per car entry fee.

  • Liberty Timber Derrick Demonstrations - 1:00 p.m./2:00 p.m./3:00 p.m., Quarry Park.  Experience St. Cloud's granite heritage at Quarry Park.  In addition to interpretive displays and hands-on activities, the 100 year old Liberty Timber Derrick will be lifting a 4-ton block of granite!  Parking fees will be waived for the day.
  • WPPD Paws for Laws K-9 Demo – 1:30 p.m., Ceromony to retire Officer Brad Thelen's Badge Number 2307
  • Firefighter’s Water Ball Fight - 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
