Halen’s Hankies of Hope

Sep 20th 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Halen’s Hankies of Hope and Halen’s Family would like to invite you to our 1st Annual Non-Profit Garage sale taking place on September 20th from 8:00am to 5:00pm and September 21st from 8:00am to 3:00pm at the American Legion, Post 254, 415 N. Benton Drive, Sauk Rapids, MN 56379.

This event will raise funds to help support our mission:
To relieve some financial burden incurred by families in the Twin Cities and surrounding
communities struggling with childhood cancer through the sale of Halen’s Hankies of
Hope, Halen’s Hankies of Hope logoed items and events organized by Halen’s Hankies
of Hope. Halen Hirsch, age 15, of St. Cloud, Minnesota lost his battle with cancer and
could not carry out his life’s mission, to help others. The financial, emotional, physical,
and spiritual toll incurred while a child is hospitalized can overwhelm a family’s ability
to cope. We’ve experienced this firsthand. Halen’s Hankies of Hope will help a family
focus on what matters most, the child. Through sales of Halen’s Hankies of Hope, along
with individual and corporate support and fundraising efforts, we can provide financial
relief for gas costs, car repairs, groceries, parking fees, and other ancillary costs
associated with hospitalization. By working with Child Life specialists and Social
Worker’s in local pediatric hospitals to identify families in need, we speak personally
with each family we help, offer support, and help keep hope alive. Our Non-Profit
contributes 100% of the proceeds back to Halen’s Hankies of Hope. Halen’s Hankies of
Hope has no administrative fees because all of our support is donated by the friends and
family of Halen Hirsch.
Approximately 13,400 children between the ages of birth and nineteen years of age ar
diagnosed with cancer every year. Of that 13,400 children, between 350 to 400 children
will be in the state of Minnesota. Almost all of those children will be treated at
Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minneapolis and University of Minnesota Amplatz
Children’s Hospital. Of the children diagnosed and treated approximately 2500 children
each year will die from cancer making it the most common cause of death by disease in
children and adolescents in America. Halen’s Hankies of Hope would like to be able to
give back to a community that no family should be forced to be a part of. Please help us
give back by making a donation on our website or attend our upcoming event. Visit our
website at: www.halenshankiesofhope.org and meet Halen personally by watching his
video. “HOPE” is a beautiful thing. Let’s pass it on.
