(KNSI) — It was bound to happen sometime. The National Weather Service has issued a freeze watch for the St. Cloud area.
The watch is in effect from 1:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning, October 17th.
Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation. Fun fact: this watch is only issued when temps get to a point where they may damage or kill unharvested crops, which would end the growing season.
The first freeze around here usually happens October 13th.
This watch also includes Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, and Wisconsin.
