(KNSI) — Quick thinking from a property owner likely prevented fire damage to a farm building in St. Martin Township.
The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to a car fire after a passerby noticed flames coming from the engine compartment of a Chrysler 300 parked near a farm building. After calling 911, they alerted the property owner to the fire, who got a front-end loader and pushed the burning car away from the structure.
Deputies carry fire extinguishers in their squads, but from the photo, the sheriff’s department says nothing short of a fire truck was going to be able to douse the flames. The car was fully engulfed when the St. Martin Fire Department arrived on the scene. They were able to get the fire out quickly. The car is considered a total loss.
No one was hurt, and no other structures were damaged.
