ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) - Minnesota House District 14A elect Tama Theis is heading to St. Paul to take her new seat in the Minnesota Legislature next week.
The GOP nominee for the vacated seat won the February 12th election with 55 percent of the vote.
Theis launched her campaign 4 hours after former representative Steve Gottwalt reliquished his seat. She says she's looking forward to what she calls "the opportunity of a lifetime."
"I'm excited to get involved with business issues to get the private sector up and running again," Theis says. "It's been disheartening as a business owner to see the struggles. We need to let the private sector grow and be successful, and that's what I want to work for."
She'll be sworn into office next Tuesday afternoon at the Minnesota State Capitol.
