LITTLE FALLS, Minn. (KNSI) A second two-day archery hunt at Camp Ripley near Little Falls was held last weekend, and resulted in 223 deer being harvested.
The DNR says those deer, coupled with the 208 deer that were taken during a hunt on October 17th and 18th, represent the eighth best harvest ever at Camp Ripley.
The 431 deer taken over four days is 35-pecent above the long-term harvest of 320 deer for the two hunts combined, and represents a two-percent increase over last year's 422 deer that were harvested.
More than 4,200 hunters participated this year.
The largest buck harvested last weekend was taken by Ryan Brenny of Rice. It weighed in at 215 pounds.
