ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KNSI) The Stearns County Attorney's Office has received a 24-hour extension to decide whether to file charges against 34 year-old Ryan Michael Larson. He's the man arrested following the shooting death of Cold Spring police officer Tom Decker last Thursday night.
Decker was dispatched to check on a suicidal man when he was shot twice behind a Cold Spring bar.
The county had until noon Monday to charge Larson, release him, or get an extension. The 24-hour extension was granted by Judge Vicki Landwehr. That means authorities have until noon Tuesday to charge or release Larson.
Over the weekend, the Stearns County Sheriff's Office asked the public to keep an eye out for what is believed to be a 20 gauge shotgun that was used to kill Decker.
